The theme of this year’s fringe meeting will be Work Related Stress and Ill Health.  This year’s TUC national Safety Representatives Survey identified this subject as the number one concern.

This year we have an excellent guest speaker in Ian Draper from the UK National Work Stress Network.  Ian Draper, Stress Network Coordinator is a retired secondary teacher and was an NASUWT lay and paid official. Ian was instrumental with other NASUWT colleagues in setting up the Network specifically around teacher work-stress and long term sickness absences.  The network is free-standing and heavily involved with the UK Hazards Campaign and its annual conferences.  Having much direct experience of casework with working teachers, Ian has a detailed understanding of the causes, effects, symptoms and costs of work-related stress and its associated illnesses.

Ian also chairs the EWHN (European Work Hazards Network) Steering Group, which meets six-monthly and organises international conferences.

Please see attached .pdf file version of the meeting flyer for download and printing. Copies will be distributed at Annual Conference to delegates.

All delegates are welcome - please join us for what has become the most popular fringe meeting at CWU Conference - free buffet provided thanks to our meeting sponsors Simpson Millar Solicitors, our sponsors for several years.  Thanks also to Hazards Magazine for supporting the meeting with free editions of Hazards magazines.
